Sydney Grace Bannister – a Mary Litchfield, Wildgen Family, and Rachel Hut Bremen Memorial Fellow – graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor’s in public administration as well as minors in law & society and leadership studies.  Sydney graduated magna cum laude and with honors in communications. During her undergraduate career Sydney was a two-time Undergraduate Research Award winner for her research involving frontline supervisors in law enforcement; research that landed her a panel seat at the National Law and Society Conference in Canada for 2018. Sydney served two years as president of Sigma Kappa sorority on campus as well as a coordinator at the Center for Community Outreach for the Lifeline Tutoring program. Sydney was both a participant and program coordinator for the Kansas Women’s Leadership Institute and attended the LeaderShape Institute, Colors of KU, and SFL Impact retreats. Sydney spent her Spring of 2019 semester at KU working for Olathe Parks and Recreation in Johnson County where her love for public service grew immensely, further developing a passion for local governance and community.
